Developer 43 Studios and publisher Joystick Ventures are bringing Hell of an Office, a satanic speedrunning first-person platformer, to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 & 5 in Q4 2024. The game will first launch on PC via Steam on October 3, 2024, with versions for the Epic Games Store and GOG planned for a future date.
In Hell of an Office, players take on the role of an employee battling for the coveted title of “Satan’s favourite”, in a hellish corporate setting where winning Employee of the Month is a fierce competition. Set across 100 levels within ten layers of Hell, players must navigate traps such as laser beams, spiked walls, and saw blades, all while performing daring jumps and air dashes to escape with the help of a stapler companion.
The Steam version will include a level editor supported by Steam Workshop, allowing players to design their own levels and share them with the community.
Players will meet a colourful cast of characters in the game’s full campaign, including Mr. Stapley (a stapler-shaped manager) and Satan, the underworld’s CEO. The game seeks to blend corporate humour with chaotic platforming, while also encouraging players to speedrun their way to the coveted title of Satan’s Favourite.
43 Studios expressed their excitement for the release across multiple platforms, sharing:
Hell is all-inclusive with their employees, so we wanted to ensure everyone had the opportunity to work for such a wholesome company! Satan will be pleased to see your increased productivity across the board on multiple platforms. We can’t wait to see how the community fares in the face of these work fires on launch day and beyond!
