Touhou Genso Wanderer -FORESIGHT-, a fan-made turn-based dungeon crawler RPG from the Touhou Project, has launched today on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Developed by AQUASTYLE and published by Phoenixx, the game offers an enhanced roguelite experience for consoles, with expanded features and new content. A Japan-exclusive physical edition for Nintendo Switch is also available for pre-order, set for release on 28 November 2024.
The game includes additional dungeons, a new character, increased level caps, and expanded boss spell card locations. Players will also be able to explore a new storyline with the Hakurei Shrine Restoration Plan, discovering more about the mysterious destruction of the Shrine and what lies ahead as they work to restore it.
The plot centres on Shrine Maiden Reimu, who, with the help of Marisa Kirisame, must save Gensokyo after the Hakurei Shrine is attacked by an unknown enemy. Players can team up with over 60 characters from the Touhou Project, each with unique abilities, to strategize and defeat foes while rebuilding the shrine.
Key gameplay features include turn-based combat, customisable skill trees, and the use of consumables to enhance exploration and dungeon navigation. Players can equip weapons, armour, and Boss Spell cards, while also collecting donations to support the restoration of the sacred shrine.
