The developer Artificer, in collaboration with publisher Devolver Digital, has announced the upcoming release of the tactical adventure game Sumerian Six. The game is set to launch on PC on 2 September 2024. Ahead of its release, a new six-and-a-half-minute deep dive video has been shared, showcasing key characters, gameplay mechanics, and strategies that players will use to thwart the Nazi’s occult endeavours. You can watch this video in its entirety, below.
For those eager to try the game, a demo featuring the opening two chapters is now available on Steam. This demo has been updated with several tweaks and fixes based on player feedback.
Sumerian Six follows the story of the Enigma Squad, a group of the world’s top scientists brought together to conduct covert missions against the Third Reich. The Nazis, led by former Squad member Hans Kammler, have tapped into the occult to develop a powerful weapon, the Wunderwaffe, with the goal of winning the war. Kammler, now an enemy, commands an army of heavily armed, mutated, and supernaturally enhanced soldiers, posing a significant threat to the Enigma Squad.
Players will need to navigate Nazi strongholds, using stealth to avoid detection and eliminate guards, before facing off against more formidable enemies. The game encourages the use of the squad’s dynamic abilities in creative tactical combinations to overcome challenges. As players progress, their squad becomes stronger, instilling fear in the Nazi forces and bringing them closer to stopping Kammler from unleashing the mystical substance Geiststoff – a potential game-changer in the war.
