After announcing their plans for the game back in February this year, Nippon Ichi Software America has confirmed that the latest entry in the Ys series, Ys X: Nordics, will be released on the Nintendo Switch starting 1 November 2024. The game aims to provide players with fast-paced combat and a narrative featuring unlikely allies, all against the backdrop of naval exploration in a high seas setting.
Ys X: Nordics follows Adol Christin, a young red-haired adventurer, and Karja Balta, a proud pirate, who are brought together by fate and the mysterious power of Mana. After a tenuous encounter at sea, they find themselves bound together and must search for a way to undo these mystical ties. Their journey leads them into a conflict between two factions: the seafaring Normans and the seemingly immortal Griegr. To save the people of Obelia Gulf, Adol and Karja must navigate their unexpected bond and the power it grants them.
