Square Enix Unveils Life Is Strange: Double Exposure During Xbox Games Showcase

In attendance at the Xbox Game Showcase with not an RPG but one of their now semi-long running narrative franchises, Square Enix unveiled Life Is Strange: Double Exposure during the event. This is the latest instalment in their narrative adventure franchise, and is being developed by the team at Deck Nine Games, who has worked on the series since 2017s Life Is Strange: Before the Storm, taking over the original game’s developer Dontnod Entertainment.

Pitched as a supernatural murder mystery, this instalment is set for release on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC starting 29 October 2024. Depending on which edition you purchase, you can get up to two weeks early access to the game’s first few chapters – if that is your thing.

In this installment, Max Caulfield, now a photographer at Caledon University, finds her friend Safi dead in the snow. Attempting to rewind time to save Safi, Max inadvertently opens a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive but remains in danger. Max must navigate between these parallel timelines to solve and prevent the murder.

Further details on this game are light, but are set to be unveiled during a dedicated Reveal Livestream on Friday, June 14th at 2 am AEST / 4 am NZST on the official Life is Strange YouTube channel. The livestream will include behind-the-scenes insights and an exclusive gameplay preview.
