Sydney-Based Development Team ‘weforce studio’ Surpasses ‘Macabre’ Kickstarter Goal in 2 Days

In some exciting news for Australian independent video game developer weforge studios based out of Sydney, their recently Kickstarted video game project Macabre went live a couple of days ago seeking a $85,000 AUD goal to raise funds to expand the team developing the game so they can push towards an Alpha build for the community in Q1 2025, and then a full release later that same year. That goal has now been surpassed, with the co-op stealth extraction horror game having now exceeded their target and, as of writing, now sits at $89,874 AUD from 441 backers with 39 days still remaining in the campaign.

Commenting on this announcement, Jay Topping, co-founder of weforce studio, shared:

We are thrilled to announce that our Kickstarter campaign has been fully funded in just 48 hours!. Your incredible support has made this possible, and we are beyond grateful. But this is just the beginning.

With your continued support, we have a plethora of exciting stretch goals lined up, including new maps, terrifying monsters, thrilling quests, and much more! These stretch goals will enhance your experience and bring even more depth and horror to the world of Macabre

About Macabre

Trapped within a Rift of Endless Timelines, you and up to three friends are relentlessly pursued by a shapeshifting horror known only as MACABRE. This interdimensional terror meticulously assesses each player to determine if you’re a threat or potential prey. As it becomes familiar with your tactics, any predictability on your part will prompt Macabre to adapt, forcing you to innovate or face dire consequences.

Macabre demands stealth, cunning, and sharp wits. Choose to work together and face Macabre as one, or betray your teammates and claim the lion’s share of the loot. Just know Macabre preys on those who stray from the pack!

Successfully navigating encounters with the Macabre requires perfectly timed distractions, stuns, or even sacrifices. Meanwhile, you’ll need to keep an eye out for crafting items, from mundane household objects to interdimensional artefacts. Every item found within the Rift could unlock new equipment that not only helps you counter Macabre’s growing threat but also unveils previously concealed secrets.

Every decision you face is a tightrope walk between triumph and doom. Will teamwork prevail, or will the temptation of individual gain lead you to betrayal?
