HoYoverse’s Urban Fantasy ARPG Zenless Zone Zero to Go Live in Early July 2024

After multiple public closed beta tests, video game brand, publisher and developer HoYoverse has confirmed that their urban fantasy ARPG Zenless Zone Zero finally has a release date. Launching simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android platforms, the game will be going live globally on 4 July 2024 at 10am UTC+8. For those who are participating in the Amplifying Test phase, servers will close this evening.

As with past HoYoverse games including Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, cross-progression and cross-play support will be enabled at launch, meaning your main decision is likely to be which region you play in.

Seeking to set itself apart from the more open-world adventure-exploration elements of Genshin Impact and the turn-based RPG mechanics of Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero is an action RPG which seeks to cater to veterans and newcomers to the action game genre alike. The game aims to distinguish itself with a dynamic combat system striking the balance between accessibility and complexity – in addition to providing the hallmarks of a HoYoverse experience: narrative-driven storytelling, a unique art style and memorable music design.

Zenless Zone Zero is set in a post-apocalyptic world where supernatural disasters called “Hollows” have destroyed modern society. However, New Eridu, the last remaining city, has risen against the odds during this devastating catastrophe and has become the last remnant of contemporary civilization. In the story, players assume the role of a “Proxy” who guides adventurers in the unpredictable Hollows. Together with unique characters encountered along the way, players will explore Hollows, face enemies, complete commissions, and unravel the mysteries behind New Eridu.

With launch now drawing ever closer, Zenless Zone Zero is celebrating 35 million global pre-registrations, with bonuses being offered for select milestones up to and including 40 million, providing in-game rewards including 20 additional “pulls” (Master Tapes) to all players.
