Reverse: 1999’s Version 1.5 Update Takes Players to Australia in ‘Revival! The Uluru Games’

On 18 April 2024, Bluepoch Games will be releasing their fifth free update, Version 1.5, for their time-travelling strategic RPG Reverse: 1999. This update is confirmed to be fully named Reverse: 1999 – Revival! The Uluru Games, and is set to be an Australian themed update.

Version 1.5 will introduce players to four new playable arcanists, including rising boxing star Spathodea. After the young contender discovers in a past life, she was the first priest of the Uluru – the only sports stadium built for arcanists – she embarks on a mission to revive the ancient games with help from the Timekeeper Vertin and her friend Desert Flannel. As an Australian, I hope that the creative team does my country proud when it comes to adapting it to the fictionalised setting of their unique world.

This update will be split into two phases, the first being available from 18 April – 8 May, and the second running from 9 May until 19 June.

In the first phase, players will be able to summon the fiery young boxing talent Spathodea, a 6-star Beast-type arcanist, and the talking flame Ulu, a 5-star Mineral-type arcanist. In Phase 2, players will be able to summon the pacific researcher Ezra, a 6-star Star-type arcanist, and Desert Flannel, a 5-star Beast-type arcanist.

Players can also look forward to the main event, titled ‘Revival! The Uluru Games’, where players will be able to complete challenges to obtain the resource ‘Ancient Flame’ and exchange it for rewards in the event shop – with each of the two phases also having their own variety of unique event offerings.

The update will also feature a new ‘On the Red Land’ garment pack for four arcanists: Tooth Fairy, Pavia, Dikke, and Darley Clatter; and will also feature a unique Wilderness Pack dubbed ‘Lean Over Red Sands’ which will be available for a limited time when Phase 1 commences.

Reverse: 1999 is set in an alternate history where the flow of time rewinds itself due to the mysterious “Storm.” Players take on the role of a Timekeeper and recruit a team of arcanists – those born with eccentric, powerful abilities – from different countries and eras to confront the rebellious Manus Vindictae and restore the natural order of the universe. The game is primarily a mobile game on both iOS App Stores and Android Google Play stores, but also has a PC client available via its official website.
