Ubisoft has officially launched the first season for Skull and Bones, titled “Raging Tides”, which is now available to players globally. This news also comes as Ubisoft boasts “record player engagement”, with players achieving over four hours of average daily playtime since launch, which is “the second highest ever at Ubisoft”.
The inaugural season, “Raging Tides”, players are pitted against the formidable Pirate Lord Philippe La Peste and his infamous pirate ship, La Potence, with the development team hoping that this as the first attention to their post-launch plans, “signals the start of an exhilarating journey on the high seas”.
Season 1, “Raging Tides”, enhances the game with a variety of new features and quality-of-life improvements accessible to all players for free, including:
- Tides of Terror: A series of progressively challenging seasonal events where players battle against La Peste’s Fleet of Pestilence, leading up to a World Event that culminates in a final battle at the Blighted Bastion.
- New World Events: The introduction of Elite Warships from major corporations like DMC (Opwelling) and local factions such as the Clan of Fara (Mizerja), along with Merchant Convoys on Indian Ocean trade routes, carrying valuable loot.
- New Bounties: Opportunities for players to hunt down legendary adversaries, including the elusive Ghost Ship (Rode Maangodin) and the formidable Sea Monster (Zamaharibu).
- New Leaderboard Rewards: Offers players access to superior weapons and equipment.
- Seasonal Smuggler Pass: Features three free tracks that provide new gameplay items, blueprints for ship customization, and cosmetics, along with resources and Pieces of Eight. A Premium pass is also available, offering additional cosmetics and Gold premium currency.
