Featuring during the PlayStation State of Play livestream this morning, Kojima Productions shared a new trailer for their sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding, titled Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. While it may work its way onto the PC eventually like its predecessor did, it is confirmed to be releasing exclusively on the PlayStation 5 in 2025. You can view the full trailer below:
In Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, players shouldn’t expect an experience of fanservice and beach volleyball like some might get from the game’s subtitle. Instead, players will once again join Sam and his companions as they set out of a new journey to save humanity from extinction. During their journey, they will traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected?
Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker will return, and be joined this time around by the likes of Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and Academy Award-winning film director George Miller. On the creative side of things, Hideo Kojima shall be joined by longtime collaborator Yoji Shinkawa who will direct character and mechanical design, with Ludvig Forssell and Kyle Cooper reprising their roles as musical director and title designer, respectively.
