Providing a fresh look at some of the future games coming to Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s Xbox team has confirmed the return of the Developer_Direct livestreams, with a new instalment to take place on 19 January 2024 at 7.00AM AEDT. The presentation will be available for viewers on Xbox’s Twitch and YouTube channels, as well as Bethesda’s Twitch and YouTube channels, featuring firsthand insights directly from the game creators.
The Developer_Direct is pitched as featuring a diverse lineup of games. Viewers will be taken on a virtual journey across various studios, starting with a visit to MachineGames in Sweden for updates on the Indiana Jones game. Following this, the spotlight will shift to Obsidian’s Irvine offices, where the audience will get a closer look at Avowed. The event will also include a segment from Oxide Games in Maryland, discussing Ara: History Untold. The tour will conclude with a visit to Ninja Theory in Cambridge, England, for insights into Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. I would expect maybe a surprise or two as well incorporated into this first livestream of the new year.
Additionally, shortly after the Developer_Direct, ZeniMax Online Studios will host The Elder Scrolls Online 2024 Global Reveal at 8:00 AM AEDT. This separate event will focus on showcasing what is pitched as “2024’s biggest update”.
However, despite recently acquiring Activision Blizzard, the Xbox team has confirmed that there will be no updates on any games from the company, with news from their teams to come later in 2024.
is important to note, however, that the Developer_Direct will not feature updates on games from Activision Blizzard. Fans of these games can expect to hear news from these teams later in the year.
