PlayStation Plus Ushers in the Season of Play with a Month-Long Celebration

Sony Interactive Entertainment is set to launch its latest Season of Play event this week, following the conclusion of its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. From tomorrow until Friday 5 January, PlayStation will host a month-long celebration, offering a range of activities for its community. This event is particularly significant for PlayStation Plus members, who will have access to exclusive benefits and activities.

The Season of Play aims to deliver a lineup of opportunities for both PlayStation Plus members and the wider PlayStation community. Members can look forward to redeeming free avatars for PS5 and PS4, participating in eSports tournaments, earning points through PlayStation Stars, and entering a competition with a chance to win attractive prizes. For those not subscribed to PlayStation Plus, there are still accessible activities, ensuring the celebration is inclusive (to an extent) for all PlayStation users.

One of the highlights of the Season of Play is the availability of new PS5 and PS4 avatars. These avatars, which do not require a PlayStation Plus membership to access, celebrate popular titles from the PlayStation Plus roster, including Ghost of Tsushima, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Players can redeem these avatars using a voucher code available on the PlayStation Plus website or through the PlayStation Season of Play page on PS5/PS4 consoles. The voucher is redeemable from Tuesday, 5 December, through to Friday, 5 January.

Another campaign to run will be the opportunity to win a PS5 console and a 12-month subscription to PlayStation Plus Deluxe. This campaign, open to all, runs from Tuesday, 19 December 2023, to Friday, 5 January 2024. Participants need to visit the PlayStation Plus website and answer five questions about the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue to enter.

Furthermore, a free online multiplayer weekend is scheduled for Saturday, 9 December to Sunday, 10 December 2023, allowing players without a PlayStation Plus membership to enjoy online multiplayer games. For those who are PlayStation Plus subscribers, PlayStation Tournaments, another key feature of the Season of Play, will occur from Tuesday, 12 December to Sunday, 17 December 2023, featuring games such as EA Sports FC 24 and NBA 2K24. These tournaments offer participants a chance to win a PlayStation Plus Deluxe membership and a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console.

Additionally, PlayStation Plus members can earn 50 bonus points on PlayStation Stars by redeeming and playing any of the December PlayStation Plus Monthly Games: LEGO 2K Drive, Powerwash Simulator, or Sable. These points are a part of the rewards system for PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Stars members, applicable on eligible purchases made on the PlayStation Store.

Lastly, Sony Pictures Core is offering benefits exclusive to PlayStation Plus members, particularly those with Deluxe memberships. This month, members can avail of weekly discounts on a selection of movies for a limited time. Additionally, starting today, PlayStation Plus Deluxe members will gain access to select content from Crunchyroll, including popular series like Eighty Six, Iruma-kun, and To Your Eternity, as part of the curated catalogue of movies available for streaming on demand.
