Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR Now Available on Meta Quest Platform: First of Its Kind Game for Long-Running Franchise

Ubisoft has announced the release of Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, marking the first venture Ubisoft has made into virtual reality for their long-running Assassin’s Creed franchise. This title, which will see players re-encounter some familiar faces from past games, is now available exclusively on the Meta Quest Platform, which includes the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro, priced at $59.95 AUD or local equivalent.

In Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, players can step into the shoes of three different assassins from three distinct time periods in a first-person view. Players should expect to enjoy some flagship series staples in first-person, such as wielding the Hidden Blade, engaging in parkour across city rooftops, participating in combat, and mastering stealth techniques.

Players will assume the role of an elite hacker working undercover for the Brotherhood within Abstergo. Directed by Dominika Wilk, voiced and portrayed by Morena Baccarin, players will explore the memories of three iconic assassins: Ezio Auditore da Firenze from the Italian Renaissance, Connor Kenway during the American Revolution, and Kassandra in an Athens ruled by the “Thirty Tyrants. These characters have interacted with artifacts that Abstergo is desperate to find.

Developed by Ubisoft Red Storm, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR aims to remain true to its roots, featuring hallmark elements like parkour, combat, stealth, and the exhilarating leap of faith. Players have the freedom to choose their approach to objectives, navigating open maps and engaging in hand-to-hand combat with a range of enemies. As someone who does experience a degree of nausea from virtual reality gaming, that all sounds fun but also worrying to an extent. The development team have aimed to offer comfort-oriented settings to accomodate various levels of VR sensitivity, including adjustable locomotion and a “Fear of Heights” feature to reduce vertigo.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is a full-length game with a brand new story, available exclusively in VR. Players interested in this novel Assassin’s Creed experience can purchase the game on the Meta Quest Store page.
