Three years after their original release of The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – Bandai Namco Entertainment and Supermassive Games have finally managed to port their story-driven horror game The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope across to the Nintendo Switch.
For those unaware, The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of standalone horror games developed by Supermassive Games, the developer behind 2015’s memorable PS4-exclusive horror game Until Dawn. Each instalment features a branching plotline, and are designed to present “a new terrifying experience on a regular basis”. New instalments are typically released on an annual basis, with Little Hope being the second of five games currently released.
Abandoned and all alone, Little Hope follows four college students and their teacher who have become stranded in an isolated town miles from anywhere after their bus crashes in bad weather. Trapped by a mysterious fog in the town of Little Hope, they search desperately for a means of escape while visions from the past haunt them from the shadows. Through these mysterious visions, they bear witness to the town’s gruesome past and the terrible events of the Andover Witch Trials. They must figure out the motivation of these apparitions and escape Little Hope.
