Continuing their post-launch support and development of 2020 action RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Bandai Namco Entertainment and developer CyberConnect2 has released their fifth major piece of DLC for the game. A prequel of sorts, this content will take players back to a tale from Goku’s youth. This new content centers around events from the 23rd World Tournament, as depicted in the concluding episode of the Dragon Ball anime series.
With this update, players will step into the competitive world of the arena, tasked with revisiting some of the most memorable battles inspired directly from the original Dragon Ball narrative. As the DLC is set prior to the events chronicled in Dragon Ball Z, players will find that the capabilities of their characters align more closely with those found in the manga. Specifically, there are restrictions on ki usage, and the ability to fly during combat has been removed.
This necessitates players to strategically use their available skills to succeed in the World Tournament. Beyond the primary battles within the arena, the DLC also offers players the opportunity to venture out into the game’s environment, embarking on new side quests and uncovering additional in-game content.
Dragon ball Z: Kakarot is now available to purchase on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC, with backwards compatibility also available on the PlayStation 5 (with the PS4 version) and Xbox Series X|S (with the Xbox One version)
