Bliss Brain Announce Princess Maker 2: Regeneration, 30th Anniversary Celebration of Child Raising Game

Celebrating the game’s 30th anniversary, Bliss Brain and Yonago GAINAX have confirmed that Princess Maker 2 will be receiving a fully-fledged remake later in 2023, titled Princess Maker 2: Regeneration. As players were tasked with doing 30 years ago, they will serve as a fatherly figure to a young girl, raising her in a fantasy setting until she turns the age of 18, with decisions made influencing her future considerably. The girl’s A wide variety of opportunities await depending on how you raise her. What kind of dream will you make come true for this girl?

Princess Maker 2 was first released in 1993 for the PC-9801 in Japan, and while an infamously leaked English version was originally in the works, it was only made available on Steam in recent years. This remaster will feature newly redrawn visuals by Takami Akai, who directed production and worked on character design for the original Princess Maker series at Gainax.

Princess Maker 2: Regeneration is based on Princess Maker 2: Refine, and will feature visuals redrawn in a style similar to the PC-98 version. The graphics are drawn in high resolution befitting modern game systems, although not greatly altering the style of the game – for better or worse. They claim a commitment to “quality in the details”. Furthermore, an opening animation by Yonago Gainax will be added to the game. The animation, drawn by a team led by Takami Akai, envisions the future the player will have as the “father” with their “daughter”.
