Microsoft’s Xbox team has revealed a revamped version of Xbox Live Gold – titled Xbox Game Pass Core – which is set to launch globally starting 14 September 2023. This is set to be a replacement of the current subscription model, and also bid adieu to the ‘Live’ moniker that has been phased out by Microsoft over the last decade.
This is set to continue providing gamers with online gaming experiences without needing to fork out more for the full Xbox Game Pass subscription. As part of Xbox Game Pass Core, players will also gain access to a curated library of over 25 games which are focused around online gaming experiences such as Gears 5, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Grounded, Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, among others. Updates to the game collection are anticipated to occur 2-3 times annually.
Membership to Xbox Game Pass Core, priced at $10.95 AUD per month or $79.95 AUD per year, will grant members access to the multiplayer network as well as exclusive deals and discounts. .
Current Xbox Live Gold members will be seamlessly transitioned to the new platform. No adjustments will be required on their part, as all updates will be automatically implemented at launch.
