During their latest dedicated livestream for Honkai: Star Rail late yesterday evening, developer HoYoverse confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail Version 1.2: Even Immortality Ends will be launching for the PC, iOS and Android platforms starting 19 July 2023. This includes an epic convergence marked by the climax of Xianzhou Luofu’s adventure, and the introduction of Blade, Kafka, and Luka as playable characters. A host of formidable opponents and engaging events are also available to keep players logging in regularly.
In the storyline progression brought by Version 1.2, the character Dan Heng reunites with the Astral Express Crew at a critical juncture. Xianzhou Luofu is faced with a predicament that could affect the destiny of the entire Alliance. The Trailblazers must navigate a myriad of obstacles while exploring two new areas, the Alchemy Commission and Scalegorge Waterscape. These areas are the backdrop for crucial battles and revelations about the core of the Stellaron disaster and the concealed truths within this massive Silkpunk flagship.
Blade, the enigmatic Stellaron Hunter, is one of the new characters to join the roster of playable characters. Blade is unique due to his immortality, a twist of fate that enables his body to recover from serious ailments and injuries. His bandages, while visually striking, serve a practical purpose. In combat, Blade adopts the role of a five-star Wind-Type character, who follows the Path of Destruction. This allows him to use his health as a resource to increase his damage output, providing a tactical advantage.
Joining Blade is Kafka, another much-anticipated character from Stellaron Hunters. Kafka hails from Pteruges-V, a planet whose inhabitants are unacquainted with fear. Her lack of fear means she struggles to understand the value of life. As a five-star Lightning-Type character following the Path of Nihility, Kafka stands out by inflicting additional damage over time to enemies. Her Ultimate move has the potential to shock targets and deals extra damage to those already shocked. With Blade and Kafka both being 5-star characters, if you are looking to pull either or both of them, may lady luck shine upon you.
Luka, a character born and raised in Belobog, will be available for players to recruit. With a jovial spirit and a physical strength to match, Luka is a valued member of Wildfire and apprentice to Oleg. As a four-star Physical-Type character, he can inflict physical damage on a single target and potentially cause Bleed. His Ultimate ability grants “Fighting Will”, which may increase the damage received by the target for a predetermined number of turns.
In addition to the new characters, HoYoverse has also planned several events to keep players engaged once they have finished the main story. These include “Tales of the Fantastic,” in which the storyteller Mr. Xiyan from Starskiff Haven will narrate the tale of the Astral Express. The “Underground Treasure Hunt” event presents a relic-seeking challenge with a special themed Chat Box reward. There’s also an introduction of a new segment, “The Voyage of Navis Astriger,” in the Forgotten Hall. By conquering Stage 1, Trailblazers can secure the 4-star character Yukong. Moreover, the Simulated Universe update introduces World 7 and previously unseen Ornaments as prizes.
Honkai: Star Rail is a free-to-play gacha-supported tactical RPG which is now available to play on PC, iOS and Android platforms. A PlayStation 5 port is due to go live in Q4 2023.
