To give you the most flexibility with how you purchase your games and provide you with arguably the best Xbox gaming experience, I would always recommend where possible that you nab yourself an Xbox Series X unit. But if you opt to go with the digital-exclusive Xbox Series S, your options will soon be expanded somewhat.
During today’s Xbox Showcase, Microsoft’s Xbox Team shared that a new Xbox Series S model will be available worldwide from 1 September 2023. This will be a 1TB SSD Xbox Series S model with a carbon black colour scheme.
With double the data storage, you won’t need to clear out your install directory as frequently, while the carbon black colour scheme will give it a comparable appearance to the Xbox Series X – sans disc drive which is already discreet on the XSX.
The new Xbox Series S model will be available 1 September 2023, priced at $349.99 USD or local equivalent. Prices in AUD start from $499.00. Pre-orders are being taken via the Xbox website / Microsoft Store, with availability via storefronts and other retailers to come in the following weeks.
