Following through with their highly successful release of Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 in 2018 and all subsequent releases since, Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Insomiac Games have confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will launch worldwide starting Friday 20 October 2023 – exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players will get to experience Marvel’s rendition of New York once more, through the lens of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The main story of the game will have you take control of both Spider-Men at different points of the campaign, while being free to explore Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn near instantaneously in the open world. Both Spider-Men have stories and missions in the world exclusive to each of them.
With a big AAA release like this, it should come as little surprise that various special editions will be offered, which will begin their pre-order periods from 16 June 2023. These include:
Standard Edition
You get the base game, in a standard PlayStation 5 case. But you still get by far the most important thing of any game release – the game itself.$69.99 / £69.99/ €79.99/ ¥8,980 MSRP
Digital Deluxe Edition
For a little bit more ($79.99 / £79.99/ €89.99/ ¥9,980 MSRP) but sacrificing the ability to have a copy of the game you can physically hold in your hand, you will get all pre-order incentives in addition to 10 unique suits (5 for Peter, 5 for Miles), additional Photo Mode frames and stickers, and 2 additional skill points. The ten new suits were designed by guest artists from across the comics, films and PlayStation Studios – including Kris Anka, Julia Blattman, Sweeney Boo, Anthony Francisco, Raf Grassetti, Jerad Maantz, Joel Mandish, Darren Quach, and Victoria Ying.
Collector’s Edition
Obviously coming in at the highest price point of $229.99 / £219.99/ €249.99/ ¥31,980 MSRP, you can nab yourself the Collector’s Edition. This collection includes a digital download code of the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition (no physical copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2) in addition to a steelbook display case and a 19-inch collector’s edition statue featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales taking down Venom. Interested gamers can order this Collector’s Edition on PlayStation Direct in select markets, starting 10am local time on 16 June 2023: United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal
