It seems that Sony Interactive Entertainment are looking to return to the handheld console market, although with a bit of a twist over the PSP or PS Vita. During the PlayStation Showcase earlier today, the company unveiled ‘Project Q’, pitched as “a dedicated device launching later this year that enables you to play any compatible game installed on your PS5 console using Remote Play over Wi-Fi”.
Imagine to hear more about the platform in the future, but this is what we know so far:
With a vibrant 8-inch LCD screen capable of up to 1080p resolution at 60fps, the device delivers crisp visuals and smooth gameplay streamed from your PS5 when you’re away from your TV. All of the buttons and features of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, are featured on the device.
I will be interested to see how Project Q fares, given at least my experience with wi-fi based PS5 to PC gameplay remote play has been relatively patchy.
