Bandai Namco Entertainment has confirmed that an open beta for their upcoming free-to-play battle royale game My Hero ULTRA RUMBLE will be exclusively run on the PlayStation 4 (natively) and PlayStation 5 (via backwards compatibility) from next week. The testing phase will be run from Friday 26 May 2023, and conclude a week later on Friday 2 June 2023.
My Hero ULTRA RUMBLE seeks to offer players a heart-pounding, fast-paced gaming experience where 24 players, divided into teams of three, vie for victory. The Open Beta Test gives will give participants the chance to sample 15 playable characters from the My Hero Academia universe, each utilising their unique quirks in the quest to outlast the competition. This is just a spattering of characters, with more to be available in the final release.
Sticking rather true to the tried-and-tested battle royale formula, players must fight against each other to both survive against enemy ambushes, but also actively engage in combat as the playable area progressively shrinks.
Promoted features being delivered in this beta include:
- Quirks can be levelled up by finding skill cards throughout the stage, so keep an eye out for them;
- Powerful items can be obtained by saving or intimidating civilians, depending on the character chosen to play;
- Charging up the Plus Ultra gauge will allow players to unleash great power and perhaps turn the tables on a difficult situation;
- Revival cards can be found, and badges are dropped by knocked out allies, they are useful to revive teammates and keep the fight going!
The Open Beta Test is scheduled to run from 26 May at 4:00 AM CEST to 2 June at 8:00 AM CEST. The beta version can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store. Upon release, My Hero ULTRA RUMBLE will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
