Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon – Mecha Action Game Receives Release Date and Trailer

The sixth major numbered instalment in the Armored Core franchise is only a few months away, with developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment confirmed their latest action game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, will go live on 25 August 2023. The game is coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and is now available to pre-order at participating retailers and on Bandai Namco Store.

According to the studio, this game is a result of 25 years of experiencing the developing the Armored Core franchise, and other titles including Elden Ring and Dark Souls. Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon aims to offer players fast-paced battles, in-depth customization, and thrilling boss fights.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon sets out to feature highly mobile and customizable mechas, providing players with intense battles on land and in the air. The game challenges players to utilize offensive and defensive manoeuvres to overcome opponents, adapting to rapidly changing combat distances and environments.

The game’s story revolves around a mysterious new substance called “Coral,” discovered on the remote planet Rubicon 3. Initially thought to advance humanity’s technological and communications capabilities, Coral instead caused a catastrophe that enveloped the planet and surrounding stars in flames and storms, creating a Burning Star System. Half a century later, Coral has resurfaced on the now-contaminated Rubicon 3, leading to extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups fighting for control over the substance. Players assume the role of an independent mercenary infiltrating Rubicon, becoming embroiled in the struggle for Coral with various corporations and factions.

To become the most successful and profitable mercenary on Rubicon 3, players must master the use of their surroundings for cover and engage in omni-directional battles. This skillful approach to combat is necessary to overcome the challenging enemies and situations players will face in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
