First Mini-Dev Diary Shared for Life by You – How to Edit Dialogue Mid-Conversation

Three weeks have passed since Paradox Interactive and their new Paradox Tectonic studio (Helmed by Rod Humble, who has executive-level experience at organisations including Electronic Arts and Linden Labs) unveiled a new life simulation game by the title Life by You. Joining Paralives in attempting to take over the life simulation space almost exclusively held by The Sims franchise, Life by You is pitched as being an open-world, more progressive and much more mod-friendly experience.

While there has been much community speculation and trickles of information shared via interviews and announcements by the team, many questions remain about Life By You ahead of its planned Early Access period starting in September 2023. Providing the first brand new video content since the announcement trailer and livestream, although a surprising topic to start off with, the team at Paradox Tectonic has shared this mini-developer diary focused on how players can edit dialogue mid-conversation between two individuals.

Although there are tools planned to take conversations on completely different tangents, this focuses on a simple means of rewriting conversation prompts with different, albeit similar text. At the moment this appears to be human-entered responses, but with growth in AI language technology in recent months, who knows if or when it could be implemented into the game’s conversation system as an optional extra – or at least pre-generated and imported into custom mods.

For those who missed the original announcement trailer for the game, keep scrolling down for a look at it.
