A brand new game in the Samba de Amigo series is finally releasing later this year, the first since the series’ Nintendo Wii instalment more than a decade ago. Titled Samba de Amigo: Party Central, this Nintendo Switch exclusive rhythm action game will be arriving sometime in ‘Summer 2023’ (Winter 2023 for those of us in the southern hemisphere), and is pitched as being more than just a remake of the original game.
Samba de Amigo: Party Central boasts 40 tracks from a range of genres, including latin, EDM, pop and more. Hopefully this includes the incredibly catchy ‘Samba de Janeiro’, which has been the flagship song for the entire franchise.
In addition to the playlist, players can look forward to “a wide variety of minigames and challenges to enjoy; a ton of unique costumes and accessories to unlock and wear; and new online features – including a multiplayer World Party mode” with a world leaderboard. If 40 tracks are not enough, SEGA has confirmed more will be made available as downloadable content post-launch.
Samba de Amigo: Party Central will be available both physically and digitally on the Nintendo Switch.
