HoYoverse to Recast English Voice of Tighnari Following Recent Events

Following recent events, HoYoverse via the official Genshin Impact Twitter channel has confirmed that original Tighnari’s original voice actor Elliot Gindi, will no longer voice the character in subsequent versions.

Although Gindi’s works does appear to be in the incoming release of Genshin Impact Version 3.5 as evidenced by the most recent update announcement trailer, they also confirmed they are working with the voice recording agency to find a new voice actor, and gradually replace existing in-game voice lines for Tighnari.

For those who do not wish to hear Gindi voice the character in the immediate future, there is the option of temporarily changing the voice over language to Japanese.

A full statement can be found below, or via Twitter:

Dear Travelers,

After communications with the voice recording agency, we hereby confirm that Elliot Gindi, the English voice actor for Tighnari will no longer be voicing the character in subsequent versions due to a breach of contract.

At present, we are communicating with the voice recording agency regarding matters of casting and re-recording. We will gradually replace Tighnari’s existing in-game voice lines, and issue these updates in the corresponding announcements. Thank you for your support, Travelers!

Expect to hear more when a new voice actor has been publicly announced.
