Pitched by Sony Interactive Entertainment as the “first ever ultra-customisable controller developed by PlayStation”, it has been announced that the DualSense Edge Wireless Controller will be launching globally on Thursday 26 January 2023 for the PlayStation 5. SIE seek to “[invite] players to craft their own unique gaming experiences through custom controls tailored to their playstyle”.
According to Sony Interactive Entertainment, “The DualSense Edge wireless controller features a host of hardware and software-based personalisation options, including button remapping, the ability to fine-tune stick sensitivity and triggers, options to swap between multiple control profiles, and a unique on-controller user interface”. Other elements of the already available DualSense controller including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers remain available in supported titles.
Players can make the DualSense Edge wireless controller “uniquely theirs” through three included changeable sets of stick caps and two changeable sets of back buttons. This set comes complete with bundled in the included carrying case, which has USB connection charging capabilities.
Although pricing for the controller and replaceable stick modules are set to be announced at a later date, pre-orders are set to commence starting as early as next Tuesday at select retailers.
