With Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda Softworks and their associated studios, it should come as little surprise that they would be making some of their older classics available via their digital distribution platforms. During QuakeCon 2022, it was confirmed that the Xbox Game Pass (PC) and the Microsoft Store would receive ten classic PC Games, including but not limited to Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Quake 4 and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard among others.
These can now be downloaded via the Microsoft Store on Windows 10/11 operating systems, broken down into the following categories:

In addition to this announcement, following last year’s re-release of the original Quake, a new update is being made available for the game. Part of Quake Update 4, this includes he return of the legendary progenitor of team-based multiplayer: Threewave Capture the Flag. This addition includes nine levels from the original mod, which can be played by you and up to seven friends.
