Death Stranding Launches on Xbox Game Pass on PC Starting 23 August

While Death Stranding retains its PlayStation console exclusivity for the time being, the PC publisher for the game 505 Games together with Kojima Productions has confirmed that the original version of the game can be downloaded as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC program starting 23 August 2022. This announcement only covers the original version of the game and not the PS5/PC Director’s Cut which was released in September 2021 and March 2022 respectively. 505 Games homes to “provide players with greater access to Hideo Kojima’s genre-defying title, in which they’ll reconnect a fractured America, one step at a time”.

Starring actor Norman Reedus as Sam “Porter” Bridges, players will traverse the remnants of a devastated America plagued by a series of supernatural phenomenon known as the Death Stranding. Journey westward to connect those remaining after humanity’s near-extinction. DEATH STRANDING seeks to tell “a groundbreaking story of perseverance through an emotional adventure”.

Death Stranding was the first project by the independent Kojima Productions following its separation from Konami. The studio is purportedly currently working on a Death Stranding Sequel, in addition to an in-the-works new Xbox title for Xbox Game Studios.
