The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Edition Mere Days From Launching

This is a story of a game named The Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe.

Originating as a mod for Half-Life 2 in 2011, The Stanley Parable has stood the test of time as a meme-worthy game which has received critical claim from many (including myself) for its clever writing, unique take on narrative structure and always being one step ahead of the player. Developer Crows Crows Crows announced many years ago that they were working on an ‘Ultra Deluxe’ version of the game on PC and (for the first time) all major consoles, titled The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe.

The game was originally slated for release in 2019. Which never happened, with the game postponed until 2020, then 2021. After multiple masterpiece delay trailers, we are now only a few days away from release – with three years of active development concluding on 27 April 2022 with an official launch on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe features the full original game that was released in 2013 (The remade version, not the original mod), with the developer also boasting they have expanded “the world of the original game with new content, new choices, and new secrets to uncover”, summarising this as “the labyrinth has just gotten bigger”. In addition to this, the game is being visually recreated to “reflect modern technology while faithfully preserving the tone of the original game”. Plus… who can say no to even more of Mr Narrator, Kevan Brighting?

Expect to see a review of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe on The Otaku’s Study very soon. In the interim, enjoy some of the game’s latest screenshots below.
