While product sales on the separately developed/published Fast & Furious Crossroads are being discontinued next week following what appears to have been a lacklustre reception from the gaming community, Outright Games are still continuing development on their own, more family-oriented multiplatform game in the franchise – Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R. The studio has confirmed the release of new downloadable content for the action racing game, titled ‘Arctic Challenge’. The DLC is now available for $8.95 AUD or local equivalent on all supported platforms.
In Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R: Arctic Challenge, players can get behind the wheel of new vehicles, and tackle new challenges and tracks. Players will also be able to select new intriguing drivers and add powerful spy gear. The new content seeks to test players’ driving skills as they try and master four unique arctic-based racetracks: Snow Stadium, Forest Hazard, On Thin Ice and Undisclosed Heights. They will also have four new vehicles to choose from, including Tony Toretto’s Ion Thresher. With new vehicles, fans will need new drivers! Players will now be able to add Miss Nowhere and the villainous Matsuo, along with their new spy gear.
Fast & Furious: Spy Races Rise of SH1FT3R is based not on the major movie franchise, but the Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation original series of the same name. For those who are aware of the series, it is more family oriented, and therefore this game is aimed at a younger audience. It is now available to purchase on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC and Google Stadia.
