While the Dreamhack Festival has toured the world, it has never stopped off in Australia. This is all set to change in early September 2022, with the event hosting its inaugural Down Under event in Melbourne. To be held across Melbourne & Olympic Parks from 2 September 2022 until 4 September 2022 inclusive, Dreamhack Melbourne tickets are set to go on-sale at 10.00AM AEST this Thursday (7 April) via Ticketek.
Those subscribed to the DreamHack Melbourne newsletter will be able to book their tickets 24-hours earlier via a fan-only pre-sale starting on Wednesday 6 April 2022. Fans invited to the pre-sale will have first dibs on purchasing limited tickets, including the BYOC LAN Pass and DreamHack Melbourne Founders Pass.
Tickets for Dreamhack Melbourne come in multiple flavours, primarily broken down into Day Passes (For single day entry) and Festival Passes (Entry to all three days), with an additional BYOC Festival Pass which grants access to all areas of DreamHack Melbourne, including overnight access to the DreamHack Melbourne LAN from Friday through Sunday.
The ticket price breakdown is:
- ADULT (15+) DAY PASS – $50
- CHILD (7 – 14) FESTIVAL PASS – $65
- ADULT (15+) FESTIVAL PASS – $109
- BYOC FESTIVAL PASS – $155
- CHILDREN <7 YEARS OLD – FREE WITH PAYING PARENT OR GUARDIAN
Attendees at the festival will be able to experience everything a classic DreamHack has to offer, including a BYOC LAN tournament in Tennis HQ, multiple esports finals including the LCO – League of Legends Circuit Oceania finals and Halo Championship Series: ANZ, held in Margaret Court Arena, ESL Challenger #50 CS:GO, held in Rod Laver Arena, and a number of other on-site gaming activities across the precinct, featuring everything from tabletop games to local independent game studios.

To celebrate the first year of DreamHack in Australia, a DreamHack Melbourne Founders Pass ($50) will be available in limited quantity as an add-on to Festival Pass ticket purchasers. The DreamHack Melbourne Founders Pass will contain a unique, locally produced DreamHack Melbourne VFT, or Very Fungible Token; a gold-plated pin that will only be available to Founders Pass ticketholders. The DreamHack Melbourne VFT will be shipped in a commemorative box with a personalised note from the DreamHack Melbourne team in the months prior to the event.
With the DreamHack Melbourne Founders Pass, we wanted to give the most passionate members of the DreamHack community in Australia the chance to get hands-on with our take on a limited edition collectible well before the event. It’s something fans can cherish in years to come having been there with us from the beginning of this journey.

DreamHack Melbourne is a part of the broader Dreamhack Festival world tour in 2022, which will see the event also hosted in Anaheim, CA, USA; Dallas, TX, USA; Valencia, Spain; Rotterdam, Netherlands; Hyderabad, India; Atlanta, Georgia, USA; Jönköping, Sweden and Madrid, Spain. The Australian festivities are presented with support of the Victorian Government via its tourism and major events agency Visit Victoria.
