Star Citizen Alpha 3.17 Launch Looms, MISC Hull A to Finally Be Flyable

Hopefully keeping within their Q1 2022 launch window, developer Cloud Imperium Games have recently rolled out Alpha 3.17 of Star Citizen onto their PTU Test Servers, exclusive for their NDA-bound Evocati Testers. While this period can span from a few days to a few weeks, eventually the restrictions will be lifted, rolling out to greater numbers of PTU testers before going live on game servers.

Updates players can look forward to include improved head textures in the character creation system, hospital-oriented locales being updated in the ‘Verse, a coffee shop vendor in Area 18, mining gadgets, ship to ship refuelling, improvements to the shops system and deployment of rivers core tech in the persistent universe. Players who have pledged towards the MISC Hull A cargo ship and RSI Scorpius heavy fighter should also expect to see both crafts flyable for the first time.

In development by Cloud Imperium Games and their studios across North America and Europe, Star Citizen is being helmed by Wing Commander (1990s) creator Chris Roberts. The game has currently been in a long-term alpha phase with no confirmed release date. Despite this, the studio has raised more than $435 million USD through on-going crowdfunding. Please keep in mind should you decide to purchase towards Star Citizen, that this is an incomplete project and that you are pledging towards an extended crowdfunding campaign with no 100% guarantee of a finished product.
