Continuing to dabble in the mobile gaming space in even more ways, Square Enix will soon be releasing the mobile action RPG Echoes of Mana on iOS and Android platforms. This free-to-play mobile game will feature an original story that “weaves together both new and beloved Mana series characters alike”, and as most mobile games, will be powered by in-game microtransactions such as gacha summon mechanics.
Square Enix has commenced a pre-registration campaign for the community to get involved with, rewarding players with in-game prizes based on the number of players who partake.
Rewards include enough Spirit Crystals for one 10 summon, a 3★ Primm (Boomerang) ally from Secret of Mana, as well as a Memory Gem featuring original art by HACCAN. You can be one of those pre-registerees by visiting the game’s official website, and can be done via the App Store, Google Play Store, Email, Twitter or Facebook.
Echoes of Mana is scheduled to launch later in 2022. Developed by WFS Inc., the game is pitched as including “a new story featuring new characters as well as returning characters from previous Mana games”, enabling “players to easily pick up and play the “2D action” that is synonymous to the series”, and offering the opportunity for “players [to] take part in a multiplayer mode with up to three people”.
