Australian e-sports organisation ORDER, involved in a variety of games including League of Legends, Valorant, Rainbow 6 and more, have this week announced a new partnership with the Australian and Victorian Governments to host a Rocket League Invitational event in the Australian Pavillion at Expo 2020 Dubai. According to ORDER, this is “first-of-its-kind at the international exhibition, which is dedicated to showcasing the achievements of nations globally”.
The Rocket League teams representing Oceania are Renegades & Ground Zero Gaming. They will be facing off against Middle Eastern/North African representatives, Sandrock Gaming and Falcons Esports online. The Oceanic caster on-the-ground at the event will be Max “Formal” Vonneumann, who recently won 2021 Commentator of the Year at the RLO Awards.
After two qualifying matches, an OCE vs. MENA final will be showcased live at the Australian Pavilion for World Expo 2020 attendees and via ORDER’s official Twitch channel on 4 February 2022 at 6 pm, UAET/1 am AEST. Both finalists at the invitational will receive a 50/50 share of the 10,000 Dirham prize pool ($3.8k AUD).
“As ORDER continues to grow and diversify operations, we’ve recognised gaming events as a key driver of the ecosystem – we’re absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the Australian Pavilion and the Victorian Government to bring esports and gaming to the World Expo Dubai 2020.
