Ubisoft’s RTS The Settlers to Launch 17 March on PC

Announcing one of their first major releases of 2022, Ubisoft has today confirmed that the next instalment in The Settlers real-time strategy game franchise will be available on the PC starting 17 March 2022 exclusively for the PC. Pre-orders are now being accepted via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store. Players will once again be tasked with settling their villagers onto a new land, gathering resources to build their communities, recruiting civilians, and form military units to protect against the threats to their new settlement.

In development by Ubisoft’s Düsseldorf studio, this reboot of The Settlers takes inspiration from The Settlers 3 and The Settlers 4. According to Ubisoft, the game will set “a new visual benchmark in the RTS game genre”, with players able to “experience lush and colourful environmental biomes, as well as modernised gameplay”.

In The Settlers, the Elari (one of the factions in the game) are forced to flee from their homeland and must settle on new and unknown lands. Adventure awaits as The Settlers come across other citizens and face tough challenges on their journey. There are a total of three playable factions in The Settlers, each with a unique look, playstyle and respective background story.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that a beta test will be run from 20 January 2022, with registrations now open HERE. The test will run for approximately four days, granting players access to the Tutorial, two playable factions and two Skirmish modes, 1v1 and 2v2.
