On Friday 18 February 2022, less than a month from today, gamers will be able to begin their new journey as Aloy in Horizon Forbidden West, the sequel to Guerrilla Games’ acclaimed 2017 open-world action-RPG, Horizon Zero Dawn. With release date looming, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games have shared a new trailer and information on the game.
In the next chapter of Aloy’s story she’ll face a storm of new threats: a world-ending blight, Regalla and her rebels, Sylens and his machinations, but as she ventures into the frontier of the Forbidden West, she won’t face these perils alone. Aloy will be joined by companions both fresh and familiar, including stalwarts like Varl and Erend, along with new allies like Zo, Alva and Kotallo. But… can Aloy and her companions overcome the dangers of the wilds and the sins of the past to save a dying planet?
Horizon Forbidden West is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Since the chip shortage has rendered PlayStation 5 consoles hard to come by, you can purchase a PlayStation 4 copy and upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version for free. While Horizon Zero Dawn is available on the PC via Steam, Sony has not indicated when console exclusivity for the title will be lifted.
