With Nintendo being the home for many spin-off Kingdom Hearts games over the years, as early as Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories on the Gameboy Advance, it was a little surprising that none of their consoles ever received a mainline instalment in the series. But that is (finally) set to change on 10 February 2022, with Square Enix confirming that all previously released game collections will be available to purchase and play on the Nintendo Switch via the Cloud.
Cloud versions of KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC) and the all-in-one KINGDOM HEARTS series collection will all be available on the cloud at the same date. Availability may vary between different regions.
By purchasing KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC), either as a standalone title or through the all-in-one collection, players will receive the Advent Red Keyblade for use in that game, based on the Nintendo Switch’s primary colours.
Free playable demos of KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC) are now available to download via the Nintendo eShop, allowing players to see how the cloud gaming functionality fares with their individual connection setups.
