Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires Demo Invites you to Sample Three Kingdoms China In The Shoes of Your Own Creation

When Dynasty Warriors 9 first released on last-generation hardware back in 2018, it received reviews which were more lacklustre than usual. So with Koei Tecmo Games continuing to work within this numbered instalment in the franchise, you may be wondering if the changes made over the last few years will see Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires fare better. After all, the Empires spin-off games and notably different from the mainline releases, and I would argue tend to be a lot more satisfying to play. Fortunately, you have the chance to try before you buy.

Ahead of Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires launching on 15 February 2022, Koei Tecmo has distributed a free-to-play demo of the tactical hack-n-slash action game on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This demo will give you a taste of the strategic elements that will see your character – from the Dynasty Warriors 9 character library or of your own creation – set out on a quest to conquer ancient China.

The Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires demo features the all-new evolved castle sieges, including both invasion battles and defence. Storm the enemy castle, or fight to defend your fortress in this challenging tutorial. Virtual warlords can play through each siege scenario repeatedly to discover and develop the best strategies to overpower and outthink opponents.

Players will also be able to test the game’s character edit mode, allowing you to create your own officers before taking them into battle. The newly created characters can then be transferred from the demo version to the full game as long as you are playing the same platform on both the demo and final product.

Developed by the team at Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires will be released on 15 February 2022 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Windows PC (via Steam) and Google Stadia. Digital releases will be available on all platforms, with physical releases (both standard and 20th Anniversary Edition) available on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and (Anniversary Edition Only) PC.
