While most games in the Shin Megami Tensei series have often been released (at least initially) without an English voice cast – or voice cast at all – the battle between light and dark in Shin Megami Tensei V can be enjoyed with localised voice acting. In a new two-minute trailer shared by publisher ATLUS West, the following cast members were unveiled:
Tao Isonokami – Voiced by Jeannie Tirado
Yuzuru Atsuta – Voiced by Mark Whitten
Miyazu Atsuta – Voiced by Ashlyn Madden
Ichiro Dazai – Voiced by Stuart Allan
Hayao Koshimizu – Voiced by Sean Crisden
Abdiel – Voiced by Cissy Jones
Shohei Yakumo – Voiced by Ben Lepley
Nuwa – Voiced by Laura Post
Aogami – Voiced by Daman Mills
Shin Megami Tensei V begins with the players uncovering a grisly murder scene in modern-day Tokyo. While initially posing a barrier to the protagonist’s walk home, this unplanned detour leaves him buried and unconscious. He awakens in a new Tokyo, a wasteland ravaged by apocalypse now called Da’at…but before bloodthirsty demons can claim his life, a savior emerges, and they unite to become a mighty being neither human nor demon: a Nahobino. With newfound power, the protagonist ventures through Da’at, an enigmatic realm filled with mythical deities and demonic tyrants in constant conflict for survival. Searching for answers, the protagonist must forge his own path in a battle between light and dark to dictate the fate of the world.
Shin Megami Tensei V will launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch from 12 November 2021.
