Get Back With the Squids – Splatoon 3 Announced for Nintendo Switch

Get Back With the Squids - Splatoon 3 Announced for Nintendo Switch 1

It still sounds a little bit surprising to this day that Nintendo managed to pull off a family-friendly third-person shooter exclusively for their line of consoles, but Splatoon proved that it would not only be successful, but worthy of sequels.

Announced during the Nintendo Direct livestream earlier today, Nintendo announced that work was on-going for Splatoon 3, to be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in 2022.

Nintendo has confirmed that Splatoon 3 will feature:

  • A mix of new stages created exclusively for Splatoon 3 and returning stages from Splatoon and Splatoon 2.
  • In the game’s single-player campaign, mammals might be returning. What this means just yet is unknown.
  • More 4-v-4 inky action!

Additional details about Splatoon 3 are expected to be shared in the coming months, in the lead up to the planned 2022 launch.
