Bravely Default II, the third game in Square Enix’s formerly Nintendo-platform exclusive RPG series, will be headed to PC next week exclusively via the Steam digital distribution platform. The developer and publisher this morning confirmed a 2 September 2021 release date for international audiences, with further confirmation that early purchasers (until 13 September) will be able to take advantage of a 10% discount.
Previously exclusive to the Nintendo Switch system, Bravely Default II follows the adventures of four unlikely heroes, Seth, Gloria, Elvis, and Adelle, as they set out across the land of Excillant in search of four elemental crystals. There is no word on whether the first two games in the franchise, Bravely Default and Bravely Second: End Layer will be made available off the Nintendo 3DS.
First released earlier this year, players are invited on a new journey revolving around crystals. The game makes use of a Risk-and-Reward battle system known as ‘Brave and Default’, where great risk can lead to even greater rewards in the game’s turn-based battles as you stockpile moves to use at one time, or perhaps go into debt if you suspect you can take down a foe quick enough. Players can enjoy customizing their party using the job system to find the optimal composition to take down challenging bosses.
The Steam version of Bravely Default II features controller support and various screen resolution options. The game features English and Japanese audio, with support for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese subtitles.
