[Ubisoft Forward @ E3 2021] First Look at Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

More than a decade after the 2009 feature film Avatar hit the silver screen across the world to critical acclaim, we are finally seeing some movement in the franchise once more.

In addition to Avatar 2 which is scheduled for release in the latter months of 2022, Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment studio are working with with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney to build a standalone first-person, action-adventure game based on the franchise.

Titled Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, the game is due for release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna sometime in 2022.

Developed using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop Engine, Ubisoft hope that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora “brings to life the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience”.

In this standalone experience, players will be put into the shows of a Na’vi, tasked with embarking on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it.
