We are only a couple of months out from Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Insomniac Games releasing the next instalment in their Ratchet & Clank third-person shooter/platformer franchise, titled Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. As one of the first, first-party PlayStation 5 exclusives released since the console launched in November 2020, this is a game that has a lot riding on its shoulders – and the previews we have seen so far set the bar very high.
Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment shared a brand new game trailer, focusing on introducing a brand new character by the name of Rivet, showcasing some gameplay footage, detailing a bit of the story and showing off the game’s aesthetic appeal. You can watch the full video below:
The newly named and previewed Rivet is a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension. Their dimension is one where the evil Emperor Nefarious City hunts all those who oppose him, being more successful than the main universe’s Dr. Nefarious.
The video also showcased brand new in-game locations, such as Nefarious City, and alternate-dimension twists on some iconic Ratchet & Clank areas including Sargasso and Torren IV.
Developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5 starting 11 June 2021.
