Princess Connect Re:Dive English Release Confirmed for 2021

Anime and manga streaming platform CrunchyRoll has this morning announced that their CrunchyRoll Games division would be publishing the smartphone RPG Princess Connect Re:Dive to English markets in 2021. First launching in Japan in February 2018, the game is developed by CyGames (Granblue Fantasy, The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage), and is based on an earlier smartphone game which is now discontinued.

This announcement follows CrunchyRoll localising and streaming the anime adaptation via their video-on-demand service earlier this year.

Mixing sophisticated gameplay with high-quality animation, Princess Connect! Re: Dive has players teaming up with Heroines and taking part in spirited real-time battles as they journey across the land of Astraea. As the story progresses, each Heroine can be powered up and strengthened to unlock further content and pave the way toward unfurling more of the game’s narrative along with its amazing cinematics.

Princess Connect Re:Dive is set in the picturesque, anime-style land of Astraea. Protagonist Yuuki awakens in this world one day with amnesia, without memories of why he is there. He soon encounters a guide who has sworn to care for him, Kokkoro; a lovely swordswoman who’s always feeling peckish, Pecorine; and a cat-eared sorceress with a prickly attitude, Karyl. Led by fate, these four come together to form the “Gourmet Guild”, which is where their adventure, and the adventures of others they encounter on their journey, begins.

The game boasts over fifty adorable heroines which can be unlocked through the game’s gacha system, cinematics produced by a number of renowned animation studios and more. You can meet some of the characters below, although do note that not all may be available immediately at launch:

Pre-registrations for Princess Connect Re:Dive’s English version have been opened via the game’s official website. While everyone who pre-registers will be eligible to receive 1,000 gems (premium currency), if 200,000 or more users pre-register, an additional 1,500 gems will be given out to participants.

Expect to hear more about Princess Connect Re:Dive in the weeks and months leading to launch.
