The development schedule might have been thrown out of whack this year due to the development teams at Square Enix having to adapt to a new COVID normal, but they are now back on track with developing content for Final Fantasy XIV. Ending the year with a new wave of content, the game’s development team has confirmed the fourth major patch for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, Final Fantasy XIV Patch 5.4: Futures Rewritten, will launch on 8 December 2020 (JST).
Being an even numbered patch, one of the more significant additions to the patch is the next set of Eden normal and savage raids. Going on previous expansion packs alone, this will draw the Shadowbringers set of Savage raids to a conclusion. Other additions to be rolled out both immediately and over sub-patches include the customary new dungeons and trials, updates to the treasure map system, a new unreal trial based around The Navel and a long-awaited update to Blue Mages.
