While I could honestly think of nothing worse than playing a first-person shooter on a mobile device rather than on a big screen with a controller, but that is clearly what has been underway with Activision’s Call of Duty: Mobile for the last year. Pretty much a year exactly, with the development team this month celebrating their 1st anniversary with a swath of new content, updates and more.
To mark the occasion, Activision has also shared some interesting stats from the past year in Call of Duty: Mobile, primarily focusing on a) what has been introduced to the game since launch and b) player decision making and weapon/class preferences. You can read all the provided data below:
Call of Duty: Mobile’s first 12 months – in numbers:
- 11.4 billion – number of times the most popular gun (AK-47) has been used in all modes
- 850 million – number of hours spent playing on Android phones worldwide during a peak month
- 300 million – number of Call of Duty: Mobile app downloads over the past 12 months
- 1,400 – approximate number of primary and secondary weapons in the game
- 182 – number of playable characters in Call of Duty: Mobile
- 50% – increase in size of the Call of Duty: Mobile Battle Royale map since its launch
- 27 – number of Multiplayer modes in the game, having launched with one
- 23 – number of maps in Call of Duty: Mobile (originally 11)

- RUS-79U SMG – used 11.1 billion times
- DL Q33 sniper rifle – used 9 billion times

Call of Duty: Mobile is now available to download on both the iOS and Android platforms. The game was developed by TiMi Studios and was first released in October 2019. At this point, it appears to fall outside the mainline franchise’s regular schedule of one new release per year.
