During their PlayStation 5 Showcase earlier today, Sony Interactive Entertainment shared the first details on PlayStation Plus Collection – a new feature of the PlayStation Plus subscription service being offered upon the PS5’s launch. This collection will see a “curated line-up” of PlayStation 4 games, which they claim “defined the generation”, become available to active subscribers, making them available for download and play on next-generation hardware.
Games confirmed to be included in this line-up include:
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Bloodborne
- Fallout 4
- God of War
- Monster Hunter: World
- The Last Guardian
- Persona 5 (Not confirmed if this is the original or Royal version)
The contents of the PlayStation Plus Collection may differ slightly between territories. Even if limited to the subscription model, here’s hoping Sony Interactive Entertainment and developers alike follow the lead of Microsoft’s Xbox, and offer earlier generation games (PS1, PS2 & PS3) through the service as well – either through a service like this or with the original discs themselves.
