[E3 2017] [Video] Electronic Arts and Bioware Provide First Look at Anthem

With development of the core Mass Effect Andromeda experience now behind them, Electronic Arts and Bioware have shared their first look at their newest IP – Anthem. According to Electronic Arts, Anthem is a “shared-world action-RPG where players can delve into a vast world teeming with amazing technology and forgotten treasures”. Sounds like yet another open-world action RPG is on the horizon, and time will tell if this will stand out from other similar games on the market.

Anthem is set in a world brimming with savage beasts and ruthless marauders, requiring Freelancers such as yourself to be hired to take down these forces – which are linked to entities seeking to conquer humanity.

Keeping to the “shared-world” experience they aim to offer, Anthem will allow four players to work together in tackling the hazards which await them. This shared danger “means shared glory, and successful Freelancers will be richly rewarded for successful exploits”.

While working your way through the game, you will be able to outfit your Freelancer with Javelin exosuits, which of which are equipped with unique weapons and abilities. These can be further enhanced with the gear you earn and craft through your adventure.

Our developers at BioWare have been creating something special. We’re pushing Frostbite to new heights, developing a game unlike anything EA has ever made before. We’re telling a new story, creating a social, co-operative experience, and putting it in a contiguous open world that is dynamic and will be ever-changing for years to come.

In development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC – no release windows has currently been announced for Anthem.
