When EB Games first unveiled their plans to host a gaming convention known as EB Games Expo back in 2011, they opted to hold their event on the Gold Coast and the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre. From 2012 onwards however, they bid farewell to the Gold Coast, and instead chose to hold every event in Sydney.
As a Queenslander, it was initially disappointing having to travel interstate for the event. However, I do feel that Sydney Showground was ultimately great choice of a venue, which provided a lot of space for the show floor. But it turns out that, unless they are announcing multiple venues over 2017, that EB Expo won’t be held in Sydney this year.
EB Games have today confirmed they are taking EB Expo 2017 back to its roots, and have confirmed that this year’s festivities will once again take place on the Gold Coast at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event will take place across two days rather than three, from Saturday 7 October 2017 to Sunday 8 October 2017. Tickets to the show will go on sale from sometime in March 2017.
